Spoiler: cool story bro, and/or TL;DR.
I find there's quite a bit of negativity here, but lots of knowledge and different views on everything. The human zoo. That's why I keep coming back even though this place sometimes drives me nuts.
So I want to post a positive story about today:
This morning I dropped my oldest son off at his karate dojo (black belt, but the gentlest 13 year old boy you will meet). Then I went directly to what is possibly my favorite place on earth at the moment, the outdoor range, where I camped out on the 15 and 25 yard lines.
65 rounds through the P226 Navy at 15 yards. (First gun I bought, about 2.5 years ago now). Damn, this is a great weapon. Low recoil, great sights, just no drama.
120 rounds at 25 yards through the Sig 1911. I have a love/hate thing with 1911s, but today it was love. Hit the 6" Shoot-N-See about 80% of the time, which is great for me. I know a lot of you guys are sharpshooters.
Capped off the range time with 50 rounds through the CZ512 22LR autoloader (a highly under-rated rifle), standing at 25yds. I normally shoot it at 50 standing, but didn't want to pack up and move. Dang, this thing is accurate, despite a fussy trigger.
Great day at the range.
BUT THEN, the 13 and 6 year olds took off for birthday parties with Mrs. Cowtown, so I was left with my 9 year old son, looking for something to do.
Took in Star Wars in 3D and I liked it a lot, mainly because he liked it a lot.
Like I said, cool story bro. But let's keep all the crap politics and nonsense in perspective, gents. It's about shooting and family. It was a good day.
