    question about DROS

    recently bought a 10/22 ruger, started dros 12/15/15 picked up 12/26/15

    looking to buy a used pistol today, do i need to wait 30 days? if so from what day? 12/15/15? or 12/15/15?

    also just sold 1 of my pistol, does that matter?

    I think only pistols matter for the 1 in 30. Long guns should be gtg.

    Also I think it's only new pistol purchases not PPT pistol purchases. More experienced advice should be coming soon though.

      Only handgun purchases from dealer inventory count against your "1 in 30" rule, and the time starts when you begin DROS. Best to give it 31 days just to be safe so you don't have a cancelled DROS and lose the fee.
      PPT and consignment are not counted.

      A city or two has the 1 in 30 rule for any handgun purchase, is it LA?


      Long gun and your personal sales do not affect your purchases. Though you have a "limit" on the number of transactions for handgun sales per year, less than 6, but you can sell as many rifles as you want as long as it's not as a source of income. (That'd make you a firearms dealer.)
