    Sketchy people on Armslist

Does anyone ever use armslist and when you do have you had similar experiences. I have sold two guns through armslist and have probably posted 5 (ended up selling here first). 3 of 5 have gotten questions like this, one agreed to a price and said he wanted it and then goes, "we don't have to go to a gun store though right?" Every time i have seen something i wanted to buy on Armslist it has been a scam. "Send money western union, then i'l ship it", "I'm currently out of the country but send me money and I will save it for you". I have had fun with those people though and drag them on for days and act like I've actually sent the money. I almost want to set up a meet with this guy just to have his dumb *** waiting in a parking lot somewhere.

Well believe it or not people still do and always will do cash and carry deals.... Doesn't mean the firearms is stolen either.... It's the way it should be in my opinion. As for sketchy arms list people I agree, I've done two FTF deals to buy parts and the people looked kinda sketchy lol

I understand that people do and want to do cash and carry deals. But online with a complete stranger is borderline retarded behavior as far I'm concerned. Who knows this guy could be a cop trying to bust me or vice versa.

Isn't Armslist all sketchy people? All my Calguns trades have been great. I've never even considered using another outlet to trade or sell.

You should tell him you'll meet him at his office. Then ask him which law enforcement agency he works for.
          Sorry, not sorry.

I've got some awesome deals on armslist and never had a problem. You will occasionally see someone list something that they have no idea what its worth, and get a score.

I've had the come up situation, well I thought I was gonna come up but then someone else offers more and it turns into a bidding war.

                  Probably....

or if they're out of state they might not get California rules...

Oh, please. The request is very specific. The seller wants to avoid FFL.

                    OP,
It well might be an eager cop.

Just tell them that they don't have to go to the gun store for the transfer if they can provide you with a current copy of their FFL 01.

Once upon a time you can do cash and carry in CA. I've met plenty of old timers who got out of guns for decades and when they decided to sell they know nothing about the current rules. However if they specifically ask you not to go through a FFL it is sketchy as hell.

no; its the buyer asking... and some states don't require it for non dealers...

So if the guy is from FL or something he might not get it's a crime for a Californian to try to do it...

I think there are many doj stings on armslist. A while back I was looking for an AK. There were so many names AW listed AK's for sale it had to be a sting.

Russian and polish units, one Norinco. All FTF locally, but when I pinged them they all asked for no Ffl.

                            You tell me,,,,fishy??
I love America for the rights and freedoms we used to have.

Not long ago there was an ad for AK-47's on sac armslist. Picture showed about 15 or so AK's, when you read the ad it said 400 cash and no paperwork. I flagged the ad but some dummy might've fallen for it. It's common sense, use it.
