What kind of ammo is this?

So I got 10 rounds of this 9mm ammo from a recent ppt. The seller told me these are glaser safety slugs however they are filled with a black substance and not a blue or silver ball. I googled the headstamp (RP 8(possibly a B) Luger +P) and I got Remington black belt ammo but this ammo doesn't have a black belt. Sooo what is it?

Definitely not a safety slug. Looks like a standard hollow point to me.

Probably Magsafe. Similar to Glaser.

Yeah they do. I'm fairly certain they're Remington. Just not sure what kind they are.

yep, magsafe is pre-fragged and epoxied as opposed to glaser shot filled and capped with colored tips..

easy enough to contact magsafe to see if they use Remington brass in their factory loads or if they even sell loose bullets for home loading..

and to further diagnose them, pull one of the bullets and weigh it..

so although the seller didn't know exactly what he was selling, he was in the ballpark as far as purpose anyways..

this is why I won't buy any ammo second hand out of its original box..

They look like they're solid copper to me. Can you take more photos of the hollowpoint?

If it's pure copper, it might be a Barnes bullet, so maybe DPX. Not sure, though.

Pretty sure that those are 1st-gen .38 Super semi-hollow wadcutters. They were a one-off run made by Federal for the US Marshals. A box of 50 usually goes for about $95-120, provided that you have the original box and they're 5/7 quality, but you've only got 10, and they're looking more like 3/7. With luck, you can sell them over on Armslist for $10 for the 10.

Agree with the guys that said Magsafe. They were a low volume specialty manufacturer, and basically just made bullets. They probably bought primed brass from whomever had the best deal that month.

The bullet looks like Winchester pdx & case looks the Remington

Black Talon looks way different. For one it has a black jacket.
