    Supply vs demand

Over the last year I've got some really good prices on new firearms but within the last month or two I have seen a drastic decrease in inventory and a substantial rise in prices. A couple examples would be colt 6920's which have now gone out of stock in most places and places that do have them have raised prices a few hundred bucks. Also I've been looking at picking up a fn scar 16s and it is nearly out of stock everywhere and where it is in stock it costs more than the 17s that I bought new a couple years back.

Any opinions? anybody else seeing this?

Well yeah with panics and the elections coming up stuff will be scarce and more expensive.

San Bernardino shooting and the resulting gun control rhetoric is the cause.

But does that mean that colt and FNH and other manufacturers are making less guns or is it that the dealers aren't increasing their inventories or is it just a substantial increase in people buying?

        Thanks, just trying to understand

Black Friday was a record day for gun sales, then the San Bernardino terrorist attack happened which really got people's attention. Ever since, Obummer has been flapping his gums about Executive action on gun control, so expect demand to remain high.

huge demand according to my LGS.

On the Sandy Hook morning, the dude in front me was buying two AR15s but knew nothing about guns.
