Best hearing protection assuming no budget?

I mostly shoot .45 at an indoor range so I'd like to invest in not going deaf. I'm willing to spend what it takes for this but I have no idea where to begin looking.

I can't really put a financial price on my own hearing. Dish out the extra money and get something good.

Custom molded ear plugs and a good set of earmuffs. U can find custom molds at a gun show or ask an ear specialist.

Custom mold + Sordin's would probably be best.

Doubling up on ear plugs and muffs is definitely the way to go. Even the ultra cheap orange ear plugs that you can buy at any hardware store by the dozen offer excellent protection if seated properly. They can however be annoying to insert properly though. More expensive plugs don't usually offer any more protection, they just fit into your ear quickly and without frustration. But if you put the plugs in properly, and then cover them up with muffs rated to at least 30 dB protection, this is pretty darn good, and can be purchased for under 30 dollars. You don't have to spend much money to protect your ears. The people that spend a lot of money are usually buying electronic ear muffs that amplify low dB sounds while blocking the loud stuff. These can be nice, but if simply protecting your ears is paramount, and you don't care about hearing anything while shooting, this can be had relatively cheap.

Back in 1981 I was in the Army. We went to the range and I had forgot my ear plugs. I promptly pulled out my pack of smokes and ripped two open for the filters . . . they worked great for the moment.

Ive used ear pro for work and home daily for over 20 years and the best ear pro Ive ever had for pure sound blocking were a set of Decibullz moldable earplugs. Actually they are too good, they block voices very well too so any place communication is necessary they are a problem. Ive also did the doubling up thing but with decibullz that was not needed and I prefer the lower profile for shooting of having no earmuffs.

You should double up protection at indoor ranges - ear plugs and muffs. Ear Pro Mag Gold is one of the best muffs available. Something like this:
