    Here we go again...

Just watched a KTVU special report all about youth violence. You all know what they are blaming for all that violence...yup..guns..the easy availability of guns. Don't be surprised if some liberal politician dreams up more stupid legislation after this...makes me wonder if our politicians get there ideas from watching the liberally controlled media.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Oh I dunno. I've always thought that disfunctional family environments, poor education, gang influence, and illegal drug use caused a lot of crime. I didn't know that the presence of guns made people commit crimes.

I thought that guns were like any other materials that criminals use, like weapons (e.g., knives, baseball bats), thievery tools (e.g., screwdrivers, crowbars), drug paraphernalia (e.g., needles, baggies, scales), or transportation (e.g., getaway cars, motorcycles). So therefore we should conclude that many materials are the root of crime, not individual behavior.

        Let's ban:
        - Cars
        - Knives
        - Baseball bats
        - Needles
        - Crowbars
        - ... ad infinitum

I guess it doesn't do much good to preach to the choir on this forum. The people who need to hear this probably will never change their position even if confronted on this subject. It's a tired old debate.

No less. 3 shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be 3. 4 shalt thou not count, nor either count thou 2, excepting that thou then proceed to 3. 5 is right out. Once the number 3, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.'

This is retarded. Hell, 40 years ago guns were everyone. Everyone wasn't shooting each other up.

Then we blame the fact they grew up in a bad enviroment. I grew up in a ghetto area and I went to a ghetto school. I didn't turn out selling drugs or robbing people.

Hell, thesoupnazi is proof that children can play with guns if properly taught

Everyone knows you just got to pull the trigger to find out. The end with the loud noise and big flash is the business end. At least I think so. Anyone?

Maybe not drug paraphernalia, since the government hands those out for free... And let's not call it illegal drug use (maybe undocumented drug use) since marijuana is freely distributed in the Bay Area...

You may have gone to a ghetto school, but were you forced to take a stressful high school exit exam which tests your ability to read, write and do some math? Heck, if someone asked me what is 2+2 and I didn't know, I'd bust a cap...

I did take the exit exam and passed it in 9th grade... so did soupnazi (10th grade) he mentioned before.... and while in school I did get into a few fights 3 (twice with the same person) and 2 close calls but I had friends who would back me up. We weren't a gang or anything, but if something bad happened to one of us i.e. beaten up. We weren't about to let that go.

Plus I was the only white kid in school during the columbine era so everyone thought I was just a crazy white boy who was going to shoot up the school.

I hated the constant metal detector crap. We had this day where everyone was lined up into the gym and they went through everyones bag to make sure there were no weapons or explosives. I had my bags checked once and I had the movie "freddie got fingered" in it (horrible movie) that I borrowed from a friend and I almost got sent to the office because the guy checking me thought it was porn because of the title.

I never got theatened to have a cap busted into me.

Freddie got Fingered was a HORRIBLE movie and you did deserve to get in trouble for borrowing it. "Daddy would you like some sausage?" Tom Green got his and forfeited the right to his testicles for that.

I've seen the cyclone fencing, metal detectors and security guards when I passed by my old high school. I went to a college prep high school in San Francisco, and having an open campus was suppose to have been one of the big points back in the day. Looks more like a prison than anything else. Feel sorry for the kids.

Got busted by the Principal once, along with a few of my friends for having shootouts in the hallway with airsoft, tracer and zebra pistols. Not so much about the guns, but rather the janitor was starting to get rather annoyed with sweeping up the bb's, pellets and discs. Was told to keep it outside the buildings.... If we had no option but to duke it out in the hallways, we'd make sure to pick up after ourselves

You forgot public transit in your getaway list (yeah, it does happen).

Where I grew up, you got a gun for either your 12'th or 14'th birthday... if not one for each! We had one ND that put a girl into a wheel chair (hit her in the throat.) There was no gun violence, though. You had a problem, you slugged it out and that was usually the end of it, unless you needed a second round.

The dumbass that picked up the pistol and comitted the ND that made a 15 year old girl a quadraplegic blamed the gun (along with 3 or 4 other morons), because he knew nothing about what he'd picked up, and wound up having to transfer schools to make the bruising go away.
