The use of "Off List Lower" for an AK receiver. There is a top cover, but that doesn't make it a upper receiver. I don't hate on people, but can we just say OLR (Off List Receiver)?

I agree, the term OFF LIST LOWER doesn't sound mean enough. How can the DOJ convince people to ban it...... oh wait Isn't that the point
We should start naming rifles after more "friendly" things

This is along the lines of DSL or cable modems being called, well, modems.
It's just a term in common useage that everyone "knows" what you're referring to, even though it is technically incorrect.Comment

I have been referring to things as "off-list receivers".
That way it's not AR specific, and can include AK or even unlisted FAL or G3-style receivers.
Bottom line, if it's not listed on Roberti-Roos or Kasler lists, it's legal to have.

"Lower" applied to AK's has been a pet peeve of mine for a while too. On the other hand, I mostly just call things receivers.
