Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I went through basic training at Fort Ord in the Winter of 1962, ours was the last company to use the M-1. A few guys in my platoon made that mistake and suffered worse than you did.

          We called it "M-1 thumb".

I made this graphic to have burned into the end caps of some small oak aging barrels. Wondering now if a thumb with dangling fingernail would be a better center graphic instead of the rifle

                  That is amazing.

Can I appropriate that symbol for my personal barrels when I get my still?

The proper way to load the Garand is to use the blade of your hand to block the charging handle. I own two, never had it happen.

My M1 rarely releases the bolt when the clip is inserted. Usually have to grab the charging handle and release it forward.
If you watch carefully in "Gran Turino", Clint Eastwood's Garand is the same way. I have another friend who's M1 is the same.
Maybe some rifle are more prone to it than others?
