So I was inside a Turners yesterday, just to look around. I noticed they had the DP-12 Shotgun inside their display case. I wanted to take a picture with my cell phone to send it to my friend whose actually interested in buying one, but suddenly a sales person said, "Sorry, you can't take pictures." I asked why but he just replied, "It's store policy" and walked away. Can some one explain the reason for this? I later looked on their website and saw they had the same price I saw inside their display case, so it's not like it's a secret or anything. I just thought that was a weird policy.

I don't know what there reasoning is, but that's been going on for a few years. At least that's what I have experienced.Originally posted by FjoldI've been married so long that I don't even look both ways when I cross the street.Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program.

Most gun stores are like that. If you purchase a firearm, they might let you take a pic of your firearm. But pics of the display cases. Nope.Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I don't want someone to have a photo of a firearm I may own with the serial number possibly exposed. I edit those out when posting pics of my guns online.
My transfer FFL doesn't mind when I take photos of my purchased firearms to ease the 10 day wait. It's my personal property.Constitutionally, officials cannot license or register a fundamental right.

Come on guys.. quite playing checkers and start playing CHESS! No taking pictures policies allows them to keep the anti gun press from coming into the stores to conduct inflammatory interviews of gun buyers. It also helps assure YOUR anonymity as a gun store patron, keeping your photo off social media and the news.Comment

It's their store and their policy, no problem there, it's clearly posted on their front door.
Don't like it shop elsewhere.
I would like to see some other businesses take this up IMO.Originally posted by ACfixerthere's plenty of sissies and snitches roaming the hallways here.Comment

..and I though the no photos policy was because it is criminal some of the prices Turner's charges..

I did a PPT there, I was the buyer and it is my habit to take pictures of the firearm before they take it away. I have done this over a dozen times without problem at other stores, but at Turner's? NO.
In addition, at the same transaction, they did not (1) allow me to take the magazines, accesories and paperwork in the box on purchase day and (2) gave me a hard time about honoring my CCW exemptions on firearm purchase.
These, among other things (like crowds and long wait time), are some of the reason's why Turner's is one of the LAST places on earth I will take my firearm business to... don't like to be treated like a baby, and unnecessarily lorded over for simple things.Comment

Besides, I don't care if it's Turners or Target I don't want some fool taking pics of me.Comment
