Can a homemade AK built from flat steel and jigs be serialized? Meaning a unique code is stamped onto the main body/receiver.

For personal use, you can engrave most anything you want onto that flat. I'd avoid any banned by name models or designations
If it was initially built for yourself and some time later a situation forces you to sell it, ATF has a set of rules on what and how it needs to be engraved in order to transfer it to another personComment

^^^That's it right there. Definitely don't use any model numbers or names on the banned list.
Usual type is:
Manufactuer
City, State
Caliber
Model
Serial
And the serial number has to be distinguishable from any other markings or numbers on the gun.

the AK builder site has a vendor that sells etching kits to properly mark selectors..... you can use the same simple electrolysis method to add your manufacture info...
Or pay a shop to do the laser engraving.... Metal Stamps will warp the receiverRule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

sigpicOriginally posted by gun toting monkeyboyYou did ask. They were only following your instructions. Next time be a bit more careful in how you phrase your posts. If you give people a straight line like that, this is about the level of response you are bound to get. Just be glad you didn't post "Date this rifle"... Those pictures are usually very disturbing.
