    FFL here...

This posting is sounding a lot like FUD let me explain why

when submitting a DROS vie CALDOJ's website for a handgun, the FFL has a few options

UNFORTUNATELY OUT OF THE OPTIONS LISTED, THE ONLY ONE THAT FITS THIS DESCRIPTION LEGALLY IS THE NEW DEALER HANDGUN SALE.

NEW DEALER HANDGUN SALE - this is what you are doing

PRIVATE PARTY HANDGUN TRANSFER - any attempt to do this would be considered a straw purchase

EXEMPT HANGDUN SALE - SSEv2 is the only way to this

OFF ROSTER LAW ENFORCEMENT EXEMPT SALE - Gotta be a LEO

When selecting new dealer handgun sale, the drop down list of manufactures is only limited to the firearms listed on the roster. IE you cannot chose a gun to DROS that is not on the roster.

When choosing an exempt transition type, the manufacture lists expands to all manufactures.

So since your business model is confidential you being a new member, and probably have not even touched the DROS system yet, I'm dismissing this as FUD

Perhaps they bought a chunk of land, and part of their business model is to form their own jurisdiction. Then, when you finish your online training academy, you can come in and get sworn in as a LEO of the jurisdiction. From there, it's easy - you can buy whatever you want

Then I make up PC violations. Arrest them and "confiscate" their inventory.

They might have gotten the thread deleted because they were not advertising (i.e, paying up) as a Commercial Vendor in that forum.

Perhaps they were gonna avoid "selling" off roster guns by doing a rent to own and treating it as a loan.

I wouldn't be in a hurry to sink with them.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

Admittedly, I'll keep an eye on them just to see what they can legally do. The only things that come to mind are:

                        1) The "loaning" of guns as noted above. Can't see how that would fly, though - think of the liability if someone uses your lent gun in a crime or accident.

                        2) Open up business in a town that will accept anyone for a LEO job.

                        3) Combine the gun business with a mail-order bride business. I hear there are plenty of hot women in Kentucky or Tennessee that are looking to bring their handguns to marriage-minded California guys.
