Acronyms and their meanings!?

Is there any place on this site that has a list of acronyms and what they mean? I find myself spending more time trying to figure out what they mean than reading posts. Some times they are fairy easy to understand but most of the time it's hard to figure them out. So I was just curious if there was a place here that posted the acronyms and their meanings. If not maybe there could be a sticky on the home page.

Hot tip, skip to page 7 of the thread and about half way down you'll find an alphabetized "current" compilation of the original acronyms list plus everything that was posted by others after it.

Part of the problem is that people have lost sight of the reason that we write in the first place. We write to communicate with others but if we disguise our words and meaning with the abundant use of acronyms (often made up on the spot) then we show that we do not respect nor have time to consider those who read what we write.

There seems to be a cultural shift toward the focus on self rather than seeing oneself as having obligation to others. When I write, I try to consider the person reading what I have to say and so take the time and effort to make my words comprehensible to those who have taken their valuable time to read what I have to say.
