Went to walmart last night to buy some ammo WWB 9mm 19.97 100 rounds ( san marcos area )

when i paid for the Ammo lady asked if the ammo was for a rifle or a pistol asked the same question for each box of ammo for the 9mm and 45. seemed like she was putting the info into the computer. anyone else notice that?

They ask that so they know whether to check your ID for 18 or 21. I asked once "If I told you this was for a rifle, would it make a difference (age wise)?" and was told "no". It's fun buying ammo sometimes, the employees rarely have a clue

Tell them neither and that you're just an Ammo collector/enthusiast.

the register beeps when I bought some octane boost for my car, lady asked are you over 18? that kinda stuff.

Oh, and then you get the guy behind the counter who literally can't read. I was trying to buy some .380 there once, and it deteriorated into the guy pointing to the box and saying, "Is it this one?" I had to have him hand me each box in turn, don't know if it was old eyes or bad contacts, but I just couldn't read them in the case behind the register. I didn't lose it with him, but I came close.

Wally World does have it's share of robots.

I was in the Milpitas Wally World approx three weeks ago to buy some 22LR the gal behind the counter got a call from someone who apparently wanted to price check EVERYTHING behind the glass.

So anyways, the gal, not wanting to sound like an idiot, she called off everything on the labels including the bullet weight. The funny part was she referred to it as "Grit" (like sandpaper) instead of grains.

I just shook my head and chuckled to myself.

Was buying some .357 for both my new gp-100 and lever-action 92 clone, the lady asked if it was for a rifle or handgun, I said both. She looked at me like "huh?", so I said rifle. She said ok, scanned it, and bagged it.

I bet she couldn't imagine that the ammo could be used for both lol!! Silly employee!
