I am going back to MD for Christmas and am getting my Remington rifle to ship back here. What do I need to do if anything? Do I need to inform the shipper(Fed-Ex, UPS) of what the contents are?

Shipping question for my rifle

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

So this is a rifle that you already own and it is currently physically in MD? Is that right?
Why are you shipping it? Cheaper than flying with it?
And yes, if you ship, you need to notify the shipper that it is a firearm.
By the way, it might be cheaper to use the post office.
Also, I would insure it up the Wazoo.Last edited by ohsmily; 12-16-2008, 7:15 PM.Expert firearms attorney: https://www.rwslaw.com/team/adam-j-richards/

It is mine that I left at the parents house when I moved out here 3 years ago. I would fly with it but I will be flying all over to visit the wifes family as well and along with the luggage and gift it would be a real pain in the arse.
Yeah I will most likely use the USPS and insure the crap out of it.sigpic
