I thought when buying ammo online and the free shipping uses Fed Ex they'd want a signature? Came home at noon today to find my ammoman splurge sitting on the front steps. Eh I'm glad to have it, but I'm kind of surprised it didn't walk away before I got home. My area isn't the best.

So do most online vendors ship no sig required?

I would say that "most" don't require it, but many give you the option for an extra charge (as it costs the shipper extra). Examples: PSA, SGAmmo, Target Sports, Cabela's, Gander Mountain.

Some vendors work the extra "Signature Required" fee into the overall price of the ammo, and will not ship any other way. Example: J&G Sales.

Just depends on the vendor, and perhaps what you choose during check-out.

Most Fed Ex deliveries don't require a signature unless the seller request one.

When I was living in an Apt four years ago, delivery guy gave it to my neighbor who was home at the time, also happened to be the landlord's wife. Oops! They didn't say anything though...

You know that is why I'm surprised I guess; I never have either - I'm usually home. UPS always comes late and Fed Ex the one time I used it they did require a signature and I had to chase it down to kinko's (3 trips) to find it. Ultimately I'm very happy it was here, just a little surprised and my neighbor has been particularly hard hit with issues in the last few weeks so I feel lucky.

I signed for my Fed Ex ammo delivery last week. First time I was home. Other times they just left it outside my door.

There's no law requiring signature. If it is required, the seller did it to cover their liability in case the ammo disappears.

With the increase in stolen package on the front porch, I'm surprised they don't all require a signature. Best to just leave a note for owner to pick up at UPS or fedEx station. But I guess that's what insurance is for. Just a big hassle if you have to make a claim.

many vendors will charge extra for signatures if you want to pay for it. just redirect it to your local shipping center and pick it up there.

Lesson Learned: Make sure you know how your shipments are coming. If you aren't checking a box that says, "Signature Required," it's probably going to be dropped on your doorstep. Do your due diligence and check with the retailer first if you have any questions.

I have a great neighbor next to me. we have a buddy system for our deliveries. He orders ammo all the time like myself and if one of us isn't home we watch out for the other. one time I got a package from freedom munitions and opened it to find 500 rounds of 9mm when I ordered .40 it was his and he got mine. that was the best way i ever met a neighbor! we have been friends for 8yrs now we go shooting all the time together.

I've ordered a LOT of ammo online and I've never had\wanted to sign for it. I guess I would feel different if I had some wind up missing.

I like to have my ammo delivered via UPS. You can go online and sign up for UPS My Choice. This allows you to have your package held at a UPS service center and then you can go pick it up after work. This is WAY better than having hundreds of dollars of ammunition dumped on your front porch.
