      levy fines, go after your bank account restrict your other rights and force you to comply and if all else fails send in the goons with guns to murder you, your dog and anyone else they see as a threat.

        Wow, that sounds like exactly the scenario the Founding Fathers considered when they wrote the Second Amendment. Guns for sport? Yep. Guns for hunting? Yep. Guns to keep an out of control government in check? (Quick look across the pond to King George and his men in red.) Pretty sure that was first on their check list.
