Heard/read about it - now saw it first hand!

Went to Martin Retting in Culver City for pricing on a pistol. Arrived 5 minutes after it opened. Ahead of me were 7 people (2 were couples) wanting to get their FSC (not to mention a few others wanting to purchase a firearm). In total there must have been 12 people ahead of me. Decided to run an errand and return in about an hour.

Came back 75 minutes later. Not sure how many of the original FSC apps had left but there were another 4-5 waiting to take the test (they were either filling the application or waiting their turn. Retting only has one booth to take the test). There were also about another 4-5 waiting to look at firearms.

I've gone to Retting 1-2x/month for the past many years. They're usually busiest on Thursday/Friday afternoons (never been there on a Saturday). But to have such a crowd on a Tuesday morning (some dressed in suits) surprised me.

The last time I recall seeing such a reaction towards firearm ownership (ref: "San Berdo") was during the Rodney King events (trial, riots).

Anyone waiting to take the HSC test will be waiting a long time since it no longer exists.

There's nothing like a massacre to get people's heads out of their butts.
Sad that people have to die to get others interested in their own personal defense, though.

Its bammer who gets people to buy guns, not the terrorist attack. Everytime he opens his mouth about gun control people buy more guns. If after the terror attack Bammer said people need to be vigilant and keep an eye out for radical muslims the .22lr would be on the shelf.

Bammer has really boosted retail sale numbers during the holidays and thats good.

This is a good thing. Lots of NEW gun owners. Hopefully when the .gov/ca makes new asinine anti gun laws a louder voice will be heard in protest.

Totally agree. Hopefully this opens the eyes of the masses that the government can not protect the people.

They will put the gun in the closet and never look at it again then they will cast their vote for the same fools we have in office now. Don't expect any help from any of them.

Some of those new gun owners will do us good just as some of the gun owners with nothing good to say don't. We need all the potential help we can get.

And they think they are going to take our guns!

The cost to confiscate guns would be in trillions.

England and Australia estimate it cost them each about 1.5 Billion to collect all the guns and that was a long time ago. Plus they did not have to deal with stubborn crazy Americans.
