I'm I the only one that has that unsafe feeling. After what happened last week in San Bernadino. The government wants to have more gun control. I live in LA cant get a CCW. I can't legally carry a firearm, our hands our tied. So my question to all...do I risk carrying without having a CCW to make myself feel at piece, so I can defend myself, family, if needed.

Only you can weigh the risk/reward.**** your feelings!Comment

Move to a different County where you CAN get a CCW and commute!! I know that may be more difficult but it would solve the issue that you are having.
OK yeah I was the one who said what everyone else was thinking!!

Up to you sir...just know what can happen when you do get caughtComment

You can always get an Allen zipper locking case and carry unloaded.Comment

yep, there is always the option of LUCC.
locked container with a loaded magazine outside of the gun, on your person is totally legal.
that is how i do it everyday as i too also live in LA county and i work for a jewelry business so i'm at even higher risk.
i can easily open the lock and load within 30 seconds.
and i don't have to carry a sub-compact. with this i get to carry my full sized pistol with 3 magazines but still have the container no bigger than your typical clipboard that slips into my backpack or messenger bag that i carry with me as much as i can.Originally posted by leelawBecause -ohmigosh- they can add their opinions, too?Originally posted by SoCalSig1911Preppers canceled my order this afternoon because I called them a disgrace... No one likes a long commute but there are surrounding counties that issue.
For myself, violating the law on CC is not worth the penalties and long term repercussions.Last edited by cannon; 12-07-2015, 8:16 AM.^^ Said by some lunatic on the internetComment

I wouldn't carry without a permit. Counties that don't allow carry will come down on you big time if caught. Then you will likely never get a permit in any other county with that on your record. I finally retired after living in a liberal county and moving to a shall issue one. Now, I don't leave home without carrying one of the three on my permit.Comment

LUCC no longer works.
It was OK when it was still legal to open carry unloaded - concealing the handgun in the case and going where UOC was legal just wasn't very different.
But the law changed; UOC is illegal in incorporated areas. If you are transporting out of your vehicle, you need to adhere to 'destination requirements'. See the Penal Code, starting at 25505. http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/fa...r=2.&article=3.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment

Unless you're involved in activities and crimes that put you at risk, I would say that statistically you are unlikely to need a ccw. You are much more likely to get in trouble for carrying without a permit.
All that said, whether or not we commit a crime is a choice that each of us makes every day when we wake up. Just realize that you'll no longer be in the category of a "law abiding gun owner" if you carry without a license. If you are wondering if you can get a LTC in Riverside County: THE ANSWER IS YES!

what constitute a gun club? cause i shoot regularly with a co-worker, and we have talked before about just making a club between ourselves and any other co-workers. and we do meet every lunch to talk about guns, weekend range plans, etc.LUCC no longer works.

thus would this apply to us:
Section 25400 does not apply to, or affect, the possession of a firearm in a locked container by a member of any club or organization, organized for the purpose of lawfully collecting and lawfully displaying pistols, revolvers, or other firearms, while the member is at a meeting of the club or organization or while going directly to, and coming directly from, a meeting of the club or organization.

To carry or Not to carry
Lots of threads on this lately. One thing to think about is the legal considerations. Those are addressed in this thread, from a few days ago:
