How long does it take/when do FFL run your dros?

I'm at dicks waiting to pick up my rifle and the clerk said they are running my dros right now. Is he just misinformed or do FFLs really run dros at the end of the 10 day waiting period?

The way the dros system works is there is a submit dros option that is done and starts your ten day wait..

When you pick up the firearm, the ffl needs to open the dros website and select deliver gun, which he will then be asked for either a first or last name select your dros form and click deliver and print out the approved dros sheet..


If the dros website is down or running slow like it usually does during heavy buying timeframes.. It can take a while..

Ahh ok makes sense. I've never had anyone tell me they are running dros while i'm picking up. Unless dros is down, every gun shop i've been to will go straight to the safe handling test and release it to me.

"Running" a dros is a confusing term..

When u buy the fun they initiate the dros and begin your background check and start of 10 day wait.

After ten days when u come to pick up your gun, the ffl needs to deliver your firearm and select "deliver" on the dros website to let the state know that they are releasing the firearm.

If the employee said he's running your dros, he meant that he needs to get in the system and click deliver than print your paperwork for you to sign and fingerprint
