    I gpt a terrible idea...

Sooo... in CA, 50 BMG rifles are banned by name and that leaves eiter 510DTC rifles or 50BMG non-rifles like the M2... what if.. an 80% AR lower is modified so it cannot accept a stock with 50bmg upper and tripod? Since it cant be shoulder fired it no longer meets the CA definition of a rifle... and allows use of milsurp or factory ammo.
If you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun. America in particular have done exceptionally well taking care of the problem, as there are 1.12 guns for every 1 American citizen. So throw a rock, you'll probably hit a gun, pick up that gun, then shoot a zombie.

50 BMG rifles are not banned by name; they are banned by caliber.

The Barrett 82A1 was banned by the AW features ban not Roberti-Roos (name ban). Shortly before the 50BMG ban went into effect Barrett sold the 82A1CA with a swing-down mag like an SKS.

As for your plan, a company, or just some cool dude, was making AR-style 50BMG guns with a paddle-trigger butt and tripod mounted a la M2HB style crew-weapons. I don't have a link but it's out there and was discussed extensively here on Calguns.

are you the guy tapping my internet?

Im actually moving forward on exactly that.

I have a Franklin CSW on the way, should be here Monday.

Figured on getting a 1919 tripod since I can use it on my 1919 as well.

Still not sure what to do about optics, was thinking a long rail extension or scope with long eye relief.

My reasoning behind is that BMG is cheap and available, DTC is not
