    Turners was a Zoo

I should have known better, but I thought I should not procrastinate in picking up a shotgun that my son will use when we hunt together or trap/skeet. With the 10 day wait I wanted to surprise him for Christmas. I arrived at 4:30PM and went to the ticket dispenser. I got number 86 when the sign showed 74. I went for the Pointer over/under in 12 or 20 gauge. After 45 minutes of calling all locations, not a single one is in stock. Well, I decided plan "B" was in order and asked about the settle 870 Express availability. Nope! Same result. Well one store has a "Floor Model", but I did not any part of that. So after waiting an hour and a half for my number to be called, and then waiting for another 1 and a half hours for the store calls, I left at 7:30PM. Three hours of nothing......

I don't blame Turners. The panic has people coming in in droves. One of the employees started laughing after he heard the Turner's store employee on the other end of the phone tell him that he will have to on hold for a while, because they were "busy". Looks like I will be hitting up the mom and pops to find what I am looking for. I can't believe that I couldn't find a cheap O/U or an 870 Express.

It kind of feels like 2013 all over again.

As an employee..... I can tell you it's a disaster..... ARs are going out quick, and as you saw, some of the more "obscure" guns are as well... I think this IS 2013 all over again... People panic...

I was at Turner's Fountain Valley this morning picking up a PPT and it was very brisk business right when it opened. About 15 customers in there right away. Saw 2 AR's sold within the 30 minutes I was there. Another dude bought a boatload of ammo. I asked the dude helping me if they've been busy since San Berdu and he just laughed. Said it's been nonstop madness since it happened. The sense of urgency and everybody's general unease was palpable.

Did the rush just start today? On Wednesday after the shooting I did a PPT. No one was in the store except for my buyer and the store owner.

The shooting was happening Weds and people were still glued to their TVs. The lefty gunban talk didn't start up until Weds night. Several FFLs on Calguns reported a big increase in phone calls and voicemails that night.

              That sucks.

If I had a magic wand I would direct all the money that goes into these panics into one focused point and oust as many antis as possible. The next year would be quite, I guarantee.

This is odd as I was at various IE gun shops Fri I saw no signs of a panic. Also I am at the SARS show in Phoenix it wasn't overly crowded maybe it will be on Sat. Panic may be more localized.

Considering CA politicians keep popping up with various ideas of gun control, it indeed might be another panic. Luckily, it's a state-wide, not nationwide. Anyway, congrats with the soaring biz.

A friend of mine who has never shown any interest in guns, out of the blue told me today he wanted to get a couple for Christmas before he couldn't get them anymore.

I love supporting local merchants, but buying guns online is really the way to go when buying new. I've had good success with buds guns, and with eurooptic.com

Why dont you go to a LGS with known good prices and order what you want from them instead of hunting store to store for what you're after?

Turners is selling the LSI Pointer for $499. Most of the stores I have called or visited couldn't touch that price.

I paid for a G17 at Riflegear on Monday but had to come back because I forgot my FSC card. In and out in 5 minutes.

It was a 90 minute slice of suck when I went back today to DROS. Total madhouse.
