i have a friend who is currently in the lapd academy and i was wondering what would be a good gift idea for a new officer or someone who is in the lapd academy. i was looking in the price range of $75. any suggestions would be appreciated. i was thinking along the lines of a nice knife or something but i cant find anything that has lapd on it or anything like that. thanks in advance for any help.

I just spent $1300 on uniforms for my academy. Ouch. Reimbursed at the end, but it still put a damper on my drinking ability for the next month or two!Comment

Get him a holster for his Glock 22 when he is off duty to carry it. That what i got my buddy two year ago when he finish the academy.Comment

As a new officer, he will need to carry all sorts of papers and books.
Give him something like a tactical briefcase with a holster built in.
I'm sure he will appreciate that.

Just buy him a gift certificate from the Academy Gun Shop. He will be happy with it.
Once I received a gift certificate for Sports Chalet for $185, and I ended up spending $500. Oh, well. At least it gave me an excuse to go shopping.
