ATTENTION ALL OFFICERS: i need help with a gift idea.

i have a friend who is currently in the lapd academy and i was wondering what would be a good gift idea for a new officer or someone who is in the lapd academy. i was looking in the price range of $75. any suggestions would be appreciated. i was thinking along the lines of a nice knife or something but i cant find anything that has lapd on it or anything like that. thanks in advance for any help.

How about a Surefire or Fenix light? Maybe a E1B,E1L or TK10, TK11?

Get him a gift certificate to Proforce in Brea- it'll be good towards the purchase of his backup gun

They'll have lights issued to them, anything else they won't be using

For $75...think along these lines: Under Armor, 5.11 belt/holster, gloves and some fake branded Oakleys.

A copy of the AW flowchart. Spend the rest on beer.

                Flowchart and beer, I concur.

I just spent $1300 on uniforms for my academy. Ouch. Reimbursed at the end, but it still put a damper on my drinking ability for the next month or two!

How about this, something every Police Officer should have on hand.

It can be bought here: http://acornonline.com/product.asp?p...cd2=1229381081

If you haven't seen it with your own eyes,
or heard it with your own ears,
don't make it up with your small mind,
or spread it with your big mouth.

A small gun safe to keep his weapons in. One that is easily opened using fingerprint I.D. or push buttons.

You can get him a gear bag.
As a new officer, he will need to carry all sorts of papers and books.
Give him something like a tactical briefcase with a holster built in.
I'm sure he will appreciate that.

I went through a bunch of cheap bags before I found the one that worked for me.

Just buy him a gift certificate from the Academy Gun Shop. He will be happy with it.

Once I received a gift certificate for Sports Chalet for $185, and I ended up spending $500. Oh, well. At least it gave me an excuse to go shopping.
