Are the two mutually exclusive? It seems like there was a lot of overlap in this case. The attack seems to have political motivations (per the FBI definition of terrorism) and seems to have been directed at his coworkers. One story even pointed out heated political discussions one of the shooters had in the office.

If you are a radicalized person looking to attack for political purposes, but you also don't like some of your coworkers wouldn't you just kill two birds with one stone?

It seems that they had some sort of terrorist plan, but something happened at his work, so he switched the target to his work. I also don't see why everyone is so quick to point the finger at anyone who isn't white (because be honest, that is what you mean when you say "immigrant"). Look at the last 15 major shootings. How many of them were committed by "immigrants?" Now how many of them were committed by white males? Yes, we should be aware that ISIS/ISIL/whatever the hell we're calling them these days are out to get us. But the fact remains you are still extremely unlikely to get caught up in any sort of gun related violence, and if you are, odds are it is going to be caused by a white dude.

Sounds reasonable but IMHO they are tarriest first and lucked out they can attack co-workers . They shot up a party not the office . Likely much more people in one room then at any time at work .

Also . If you guys are really following this ( ISIL ) you will see and or should know they don't lie or make **** up . Every time they say they are going to do something they have done it . I'm not going to go through the list but it is kinda scary . They recently said they are sending fighters as refugees in to other country's . Who here feels there is no need to believe what they say . Would you go swimming in a pool with 1,000 sharks if only 1 was man eating killer . Why take the risk ? Maybe you stop and do some fishing but you don't jump in .

I don't believe it's "possible" that they are sending fighters disguised as refugees . I believe they "are" sending them . As this incident shows it only takes one to push the rest to radicalize . These guys aren't just sending the foot solier . I'd bet dollars to donuts they are sending trainers and bomb builders . That way they only need a few to radicalize many and then have the ability to train and equip them .

He will likely just dance around it now and avoid talking about it as much as possible. Because at this point everything about points to failures of Gov't at all levels. At most they're continue to try and play it as a reason for more gun control, the stupid no-fly list prohibition, etc. And he will blame republicans and the NRA for blocking gun control measures that wouldn't have prevented anything anyway.

I'm willing to bet the wife was actually the one in this role. Think about it, this guy was so hard up to get some action from a woman who would make his parents happy (hijab wearing, mosque goer) he essentially hooked up with a mail order bride from a terrorist hot spot.

One common thread I've noticed about almost all mass shootings is that it seems incredibly unlikely that any of them were getting any action at all (even from other males in the case of Vester Lee Flannegan).

It isn't a stretch to think ISIS may be online targeting guys like Farook who are simply having trouble finding a date and may be desperate enough to be manipulated.

I think people are being really silly about this, not realizing there is a damn good reason he isn't. Check out hate crimes in the aftermath of an event like this. They sky rocket. Creating prejudice towards a group of people will only create more victims of hate.
