    Cannons?

    Can someone tell me where to look for info/regs on firing cannons in Ca.I'm in Tulare Co. but was thinking about out in desert areas also.This just looks like waayy too much fun!Thanks

    Check with some of the Civil War Artillery units. They have a live shoot once a year with their full size Napoleon and Parrot cannons. They hang a bed sheet a mile away and go at it.

      Shoot it wherever it is legal to shoot firearms (if the particular range allows it). They are regulated like black powder guns, which is to say, barely regulated.
      Here is a video of one that my friend and I made (mostly him). He turned them out of brass.

        Yep, If it's safe and legal to shoot a BP firearm, it should be safe and legal to shoot a MUZZLELOADING cannon. Most breachloaded cannons are considered DDs in Ca. and would have to conform with a whole nother set of laws.

            WOW,Thanks guys for the input and the pics.The video was great!The deal about muzzloading vs breachloading answered my fears of being a DD.Thanks again guys!

              Once at Los Altos Rod and Gun club I saw a guy shoot a cannon. He used diet Coke cans filled with concrete.
