I Need A Good Cleaning System

I think I can score a pretty nice supply of cleaning items for Christmas by putting together a wish list, so i'm looking for recommendations in the following categories:

    1. Complete bore/brush kits.
    2. Weapon cleaning/lubing system. (Something that doesn't smell like solvent is a plus for everyday light duty cleanup).
    3. Ultrasonic cleaning system.

    1. I'm not big of kits. I prefer multiple one-piece carbon fiber rods and custom bore guides for my rifles. And a dedicated pistol rod with bore guide for my handguns.
    2. I use M-Pro 7 for general gun cleaning and M-Pro 7 Bore Gel because the don't have an overwhelming odor and because they do a good job. Then I follow up with Weapon Shield oil or grease depending on what I'm lubing.
    3. I've thought about using M-Pro 7 in my Harbor Freight ultrasonic cleaning but I haven't gotten around to trying it yet.

Everyone will have a different preference on what to use.

Mine is MPro-7 and Otis 085 for bore cleaning/conditioning and lubrication.

Sweets' 7.62 for serious long gun copper fouling/bore cleaning. I have also used Butch's Bore Shine with some success when I don't use the Sweet's. JB non-embedding bore cleaning compound for those rare jobs.

Amen. These threads are like "what caliber is best" threads.

        Here is some advice:

DON'T buy metal bore brushes, cleaning is responsible for most bore wear.

Use a silicone cloth for wiping guns down.

Hoppes bore cleaner is good. MPro is good and has no smell. Stay away from cleaners with ammonia because they can give you headaches.

I also use it by the ton but I pay 1/5 the price by buying non-chlorinated brake cleaner spray.

            1. Complete bore/brush kits.

            2. Weapon cleaning/lubing system. Use weaponshield cleaner and a lube. That stuff rocks. The cleaner is the best I have used....I have used them all.

            3. Ultrasonic cleaning system.http://www.hornady.com/store/Lock-N-...ner-2L-110-VT/

Not sure what you are cleaning but if you got a rifle you care about I am very happy with my Dewey complete cleaning kit and guide rod.

Dawn dish washing liquid is really good at cleaning as long as you rinse and make sure everything is completely dry. Simple green is another good cleaner-degreaser.

Seal one and Froglube work well and also work well for lubrication. Balistol works well and doesn't stink too bad.

#2 Get a Weaponshield kit. Works extremely well and smells like cinnamon.
