I really like the a300 and I haven't changed the safety to left handed or adjust the stock yet.

I know the price. $1500ish.

Wondering if it's worth it to get the left handed model.

Went out hunting Saturday morning and carried my relatively new Beretta a300 which I really like. Didn't have any luck.

Went to do chores which included grocery shopping. Unloading the truck and the final trip was 2 gallons of water.

Then I felt it. My back gave out. Oh crap!

Ended up in bed with my wife tending to me. Then she saw my shotgun leaning against the wall next to the stairs. She asked about if it was locked and I asked her to put it upstairs and lock the door up there.

She came downstairs and said it was really heavy and I should buy a lighter shotgun.

I almost cried!

I did something similar. I wanted a large boat. Larger than what we needed and knew the wife wouldn't go for it. So with out even trying to get what I wanted, I bought a small boat. Very affordable but cramped.

First year, no problems. The family had plenty of fun.

Second year, the kids got bigger, the boat felt even smaller and finally the wife just could take everyone crawling over each other and said "We need a bigger boat."

Note, I never once complained about what we had an pretended to be perfectly content with it. In a way I guess I was. When it was just me using it to fish it was fine.

Three short weeks later I had the boat that I wanted to begin with, no fighting.

BTW... The Beretta A300 is a good shotgun. I have a Beretta A400 and LOVE IT!

Before our son was born we had an 18' 6" bowrider. It worked fine for us, but put a couple people on it and it was tough. While my wife was pregnant I asked her if we were going to continue boating. She said yep. I said we need a bigger boat. She said OK. We ended up with a 23' boat which at times feels cramped.

I was buying a couple of Daily 3 lottery tickets a week for the last couple of years. I told the wife that if I won I would buy a new gun with the cash. A while back she told me "you're never going to win that stupid lottery, you should quit buying tickets and just buy your self a gun". It took me a few seconds to think of my reply and I calmly said ...... OK. So I am now the proud owner of a brand old M1 Garand (Jan 1943). I guess after 30 years I'm gonna have to keep that woman.

Maybe some day when I win the Daily 3 I will tell her that I never quit buying tickets.

After 20 years of marriage I am somewhat qualified to interpret her statement for you. What she MEANT was you should SELL that Heavy/ Expensive shotgun & buy a Cheaper/ lighter one, then use the extra $$$ to buy her something pretty.
