    Kimber rust problem

After carrying my new Kimber from the car to my safe, it appears to have some rust on it.

    Is this normal?

Yes. Perfectly normal. It's the new "urban camouflage" scheme for Midwestern and Northern cities.

Backstory -- I went looking for the photo. Found this.

Battlefield pickup 1911 from Corregidor. Note the hammer is in the cocked position.

As WvB said above, it's a battlefield pick up. It's years and years of being buried in the dirt...
