Any truth to rumors of Rancho Cordova Shooting Center closing?

My friend heard from a local firearms retailer/range that the Rancho Cordova shooting center in Sac will be closing down. Does anyone have any information on this?

I was told, by someone who talked to the owers, that they are looking for a new location to build a new shop and range. No specified time frame, but that they want to do it before all the new developement in that area forces them out.

I heard the same thing awhile back from one of the rangemasters that they lease the land and that with the encroachment of the shopping center and housing that they most likely would be forced to leave within 5 years.

I certainly hope its closer to 5 years as opposed to what I've heard (by the end of the month )

sure they will close eventually. 2 weeks!

BTW Cordova staff gets irratated with the "when are you closing" questions pop up since no one really knows including the owners.

Hey, I went to Rancho Cordova shooting center today and asked how soon they were going to be moving and one of the owners said in about 3 years at the most. Hopefully they will move closer to Roseville!

I heard the same thing last year. Just a matter of time before the neighbors start complaining about the noise.

Closer to Roseville would be outstanding. But as long as they reopen SOMEWHERE when they have to close the current location I'll be happy.

Yeah, somewhere near the corner of Baseline and Foothills would be ideal!
