It's a drive, but you can try to catch the next all day one at Chabot Gun Club in Castro Valley.

There is no requirement for you to have or had a hunting license unless you are a non-resident alien. Check the instructions for question 23.

I have never had one and got mine just fine. That question is only for non immigrant aliens.

Having a Type 01 FFL in California involves doing a lot of important paperwork every day. The paperwork is pretty simple to fill out, but your really need to pay attention to details. Otherwise, you can easily make paperwork mistakes that will result in the loss of your license.

If you got stumped on question 23C then you might need to slow down a bit and start reading stuff more carefully.

Well because of my insurance back ground which requires me to look at hundreds of paper to be underwriten the wording on the application does not state that it only apply for non resident it states as a general question and so does the disclosure. But thank you all I called Sacramento ATF Regional office and they said the way they word it now is bull**** and to not worry about. And to all that say the application takes forever this was no where as painful as everyone proclaimed my insurance licence was much more difficult. Sorry for the run on typing on my phone sucks
