Clay Throwers at Angeles Shooting Range

Can anyone comment on the clay throwers that are at the Angeles Shooting Range? Their site says they have 3 throwers at the end of the 100yd range and 2 throwers at the end of the 600yd range. From the pics on their site they look like automatic throwers but they look pretty beat up (no idea when their pics we're taken).

Is their quality good? Is there a wait to use them? Do you load them with your own clays? Do you have to pay extra?

I'm asking because I might be going to that range sometime next week and would love to shoot some clays. But I don't want to bring my shotguns if they're a waste of time.

They work fine. You load them up with your own clays. I don't remember there being an extra charge. There hasn't been a wait anytime I've ever used them.

Not sure if they still have the self loading thrower. I thought they took it out but I'm not sure.

10 cents a clay last time I went.

Call and ask the range if their clay thrower will allow loading of 2 clays at once. If they do, bring lots of clays and lots of birdshots for your shotgun. It'll be extremely fun to shoot doubles.

While I've never been to that particular range, the one I used to frequent, Los Altos, has manual clay throwers and they're always fun, especially when shooting doubles. Some folks can use their pump action for this really well and it is awesome to see: BOOM, click-clack, BOOM! And see 2 clays dusted in the air.

Most of them are pre-loaded and are operated with a card you get at the front desk. You pay ahead of time for however many clays you want. There used to be one that was self-serve, but I don't know if it's still there.

The shots are about the easiest wing shooting you can do. Clays go very slow and only straight away. No crossing or quartering shots, doubles, fast clays, rabbits, or anything challenging. For those, go up the hill a couple of hundred yards to Moore and Moore's sporting clays range. Cost is not too different (iirc), but the shots are much more interesting.
