    EP Armory 80% Polymer Lower

    Anyone ever used one?

$30 for an 80% lower I figure wouldn't piss me off too much if I messed up while milling it.

    Any thoughts CalGuns?

They're okay, I've built a few, one cracked at the buffer retainer from too much m193, another one the pin holes weren't perfectly straight and needed kns pins...fine for a beater but I'd stick to weaker stuff like wolf

I use polymer lowers for dedicated .22 toys. Not a problem yet, other than a milling error.

I have used them. I've never been very happy. There always seems to be something that isn't right and needs "work". You can get a cosmetic blemish from Tactical Machining for $29 and build a better lower.

Yeah I built a few, they all still run but something was off on all of them. They need more work than just the usual 80%. I built replacement lowers using TM. I still keep one EP in service that runs a 22LR bolt conversion, not too worried about that one.

For my money TM is a no brainer. I wouldn't buy EP.

Poly 80% is for learning how to. I have a few and they were great for learning before i jumped on aluminum. They still work but like others, my only EP 80% is on a 22lr pistol.

I've been shooting a second generation plum crazy lower and cheap ptac upper for over a year. I had a stag upper in it before that, and have no issues worth noting.

I bought my buddy one for Christmas about a year ago. He built a pistol and has fired a couple of hundred rounds through it without issue.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I'm not a huge fan of EP due to some of the owner's comments made on social media. He recently announced on a local gun-related Facebook page that he would no longer do PPT's at his shop because he didn't make any money out of such transfers. When several other folks posted that he was required to do transfers per the law, he made a bunch of juvenile comments.

I ordered myself one about a month ago. Haven't had a chance to complete it yet but I'm looking forward to completing my first 80%.

@bk23103 I only follow them on Instagram so I didn't know anything about that. Thanks for letting me know.

Previously we have had our lowers to be found with fitting problems to other manufacturers as many have. With our lowers and our kits we have not had any problems. We have tested with 22lr up to 50 Beowolf with no problems.

                      Thanks

I thought they were illegal? I see the one in the picture with a colored milling pocket?

They have a new style Gen 2, without the pocket.

I have one, seems to be good so far. Gonna try on my X39 build soon.

Anyone know the difference between EPArmory and Polymer80 plastic receivers? Is one better than the other, or are they the same?

My EPArmory cracked at the buffer after 20 rounds of .223.
