AR pistol PPT issue

So... AR pistols can only be PPT'd as single shot pistols now?

Thats what Reed's in Santa Clara and Lokey Firearms in Morgan Hill say as in they won't do them unless the pistol is presented for sale as a single shot. Sportsmen's Supply in Campbell won't even touch them.
What have I missed in the last year?

LGS's don't know the laws and are just refusing to deal with it to avoid the hassle. But last time I checked if the weapon is legal and lawful they don't have a choice...part of being a, you know....FFL!

No, FUD

AR pistols can only be sold NEW if they started at single shot from the time they are made. If they started as semis and then were converted to SS then they are a no go. PPT's are no included in this.

Transferred one not long ago as a PPT at Red Skull Tactical in Milpitas without any problems. I am told it is the former Valkyrie Arms that had some problems but it was an easy transfer at Red Skull for me.
