    Colt's customer service

I thought I'd share my recent experience with Colt:

I had called last Tuesday (10/13/15) to ask about some custom shop work and to get some numbers and to date a King Cobra I had just bought. While shooting the breeze with the guy, I had mentioned that my dog had destroyed the blue "custom shop" box( apparently they don't just eat homework). The customer service rep (Albert) requested my address and said they'd send me a new box, no problem.

Come today, (10/16/15), I get a package from Colt. Not just the blue box, but also the white outter sleeve with a new replacment barcode label/serial.

It might seem trivial, but they went above and beyond what I had even expected, even for something as simple as a stupid box that they had absolutely zero obligation to help me with.

Again, I just thought I'd share this little tidbit as it left me rather impressed. This was my first time dealing with Colt( I've only really dealt with Springfield Armory beforehand and they were top notch between warranty work and their custom shop).

I hope to not ever deal with their warranty stuff, but I definitely feel far more comfortable if I ever have to.

It is "trivial" but it's also really nice...

        Good on Colt.

I hope they can work through their financial troubles and emerge better & stronger.

I hope you did not just get a nice guy at random, that is good to hear.

People actually going above & beyond, cool.

I've had two experiences with Colt CS. First was terrible (about two years ago) with a 1992 Colt Mustang. Pistol had a FTE issue and they took approx 16 weeks (12 weeks more then estimated) to get the gun back to me (but they did solve the issue).

Second was more pleasant (and better then expected). It was recently for warranty work on a 1911 and turn around was 7 work days.

Last year I got a GCNM and one of the magazine was messed up, called CS spoke to a lady she shipped out 2 new mags. I had a bunk mag from another pistol purchase different manufacturer they wanted me to send the mag in at my cost so they could "evaluate" it. I didn't even bother.
