Duracoat, and why you use it.

Duracoat, we all know what it is. My question is why do you use it? I understand it has some protective properties to it, but in general it seems to me people just want to paint their guns pretty colors. I mean realistically how many of your guns have formed any kind of rust on them?

That's one of the reasons listed to use their product, "prevent rust". Me personally, I live in the desert. So guns "rusting" isn't a big concern of mine. Even my LC9 has bare metal all over the slide and has absolutely no rust on it.
If it's to paint your guns pretty colors, cool I guess. I can't justify the cost just to make my guns look "cool".

            My G17C for example

It has a little wear in the years after I took this picture, but still looks good.

Aren't you ever afraid if you drop that thing outside you'll never find it again?

The same reason people customize cars or anything else they own. Duracoat has some good products. To each their own, you should check out their website.

Can't speak about Duracoat but am getting my precision rifle Cerokoted. Rust wasn't too much of an issue but when I got my Defiance action, that thing is a rust magnet. Even worse than my Remington action and that's saying something.
