    Gunsmiths in Los Angeles

I'm starting to think about customizing a bolt action precision rifle to maximize its potential. This might include truing the action, work on the trigger, maybe even rebarreling with an aftermarket barrel. The one gunsmith that I knew of closed up shop some time ago. He was located right across the street from the local gun shop. Are there any good gunsmiths left in the Los Angeles area?

    cheers,

    Schills

There are two precision rifle smiths I would use in Socal. AR15 barrels in Van Nuys and Sinister Arms in Thousand Oaks. Both do top quality work.

Randall (ar15barrels) doesn't have an FFL, so you will have to wait and watch him work- IMO, this is a good thing. You may learn something.

There is also my friend Randall Cain (R&D Precision) in Glendora, who is well known for his work (almost exclusively) on Remington 700 actions. But you'll have to wait, he's pretty backed up at the moment. He does have an FFL, so you can leave the rifle with him (you'll have to). Randy is an artist and a perfectionist, worth the wait and extra cost if you can afford it.
