Error in the show The Black List

Yeah, trivial, but interesting and revealing: every time a character in the NBC series The Black List draws a standard issue Glock, a cocking sound is heard as if the hammer were exposed and the character was able to cock the gun to show how serious the situation is.

Accuracy and integrity sacrificed for the sake of a little excitement.

The BL is one of my favorite shows, and I thought I heard Glocks cocking, thanks for confirming.

Pretty much every show/movie features glocks with invisible hammers. They also feature people who like to 6 o'clock carry them with no apparent holster. Homeland for example in the most recent episode had all of these movie sins.

if i tried to carry no holster at 6 o'clock my gun would be falling out every few steps, or, i'd have to bury it so deep in my pants i'd pull it out with dingleberries all over it

It's an idiot producer during the final mix demanding a "gun sound."

A distant relative works on that show. She is vehemently anti-gun. But she has no problem glorifying violence and guns on her show. She's always posting anti-gun drivel on FB. And I doubt anybody working in entertainment cares much about being realistic.

The only thing in TV, less real than Reality TV. Is supposedly shows that contain factual representations of real life.

All the way back to the McCloud tv series with anti 2a Dennis Weaver. In one episode he came out the winner in an armed confrontation. Then told his side kick, what saved him was that the BG didn't know the safety was on. BG was holding a model 10 S&W DA revolver.

Tried watch the show because I love this genre, but Mr. Roger seems more believable than James Spader. Will try watching another episode tonight.

                          Oh he's real alright.

A Mont. man with the same name as the lead character of "Breaking Bad" has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for possession of over 32 pounds of meth

Seriously though, they toss in the sound for effect. It ramps up the drama and draws in the (uneducated) viewer.

Outside of Michael Mann movies, there's next to no accurate depictions of firearms handling in film and television.
