It was clear he was only deploying the force necessary to stop the ***** head. That shows the restraint and training of the CCW carrier.

First off there are many Jews who are not liberals and that number is growing.
Second although none of this is in the mainstream media, over the last two weeks there have been increasing amount of attacks against Israelis in Israel using knives, hatchet, vehicles. (Around 4 attacks a day). The video from OP is just one of many videos of civilian weapons holders and police shootings in that part of the world . He's videos highlight the quick response that civilian weapons holders give to Security situations. In addition the police have impeccable response time usually under within the minute of an attack. Although it is very different from the security situation here in America, this video highlights the purpose of having CCW s in society . People are every were, police are not.Comment

No, actually they don't. It's very difficult to own a personal firearm in Israel.
As outlined last year in this article:...As opposed to the United States where gun ownership is a right, in Israel it is a privilege given to people who meet certain requirements.
The licenses have only been issued to those who work in security or law enforcement, or who live in settlements or other places where the state has an interest in them being armed.
As of earlier this week, criteria included that the applicant be over 21, an Israeli resident for more than three years, have passed a mental and physical health exam, background checks by the Public Security Ministry and shooting exams and courses at a licensed gun range. If given a permit, the holder is allowed to order a single firearm with a one-time supply of 50 bullets from a licensed dealer. He is required to retake the licensing exam and undergo testing at a gun range every three years.....
As outlined in this more recent article, those requirements have been very slightly eased:
The bottom line is that the Israelis are not encouraging the widespread carrying of gun by all honest citizens. They are encouraging the widespread carrying of guns by a very select group of highly qualified persons who have satisfied stringent requirements. They might have eased those requirements, but they have eased them only very slightly."It is long been a principle of ours that one is no more armed because he has possession of a firearm than he is a musician because he owns a piano. There is no point in having a gun if you are not capable of using it skillfully." -- Jeff CooperComment

Everything you said is correct, I just want to clarify to everyone (who may not know.) that everyone in Israel (who was born there.) is mandated to serve in the IDF.
Israel does not have a huge 2a but there is also the fact that the Army presence is armed at many, many locations-- damn near everywhere.Glock Armorer

Breaking: Armed Israeli Citizen Stops Terror Attack as First Responder
Not sure where to post this...
Palestinian terrorist rams car into pedestrians in Israel then starts attacking w/ a meat cleaver. Private (armed) Israeli citizen comes in and takes him down.
It's unfortunate similar circumstances in the states are not accounted for (armed citizens doing good).

Did you see the guy with the sword at about 50 seconds into the video he ends up stabbing the bad guy with it multiple times, When he's up against the car.

Did the good guy do a tactical reload at :29? Looked like it to me. Obviously well trained armed citizen.

Hard to say (?) doesn't look like his support hand moved much, at least not down to his waist--perhaps he just checked mag?
It appears to me he started to do a tac reload, and then aborted (re-inserted mag) due to the miscreant suddenly moving again. Good decision as the miscreant proceeded to throw the knife at him, etc. The "lull" in the gunfight was not much of a lull.
This illustrates why I kinda still prefer the "old way" Front Sight used to teach tac reloads (retaining old mag in hand while doing the reload)--less time without a mag in or close to the gun, though it requires more dexterity in a stressful situation. On the other hand, with the new simpler method there is still one round in the chamber and you can do an emergency reload if that is expended.Last edited by guntrust; 10-18-2015, 11:46 AM.David R Duringer JD LL.M (Tax), CA/WA/TX atty
