California background check...

hey guys, I was just wondering what types of things (if any) will get you denied on the background check. first off, I'm not a felon, never been arrested, no restraining orders... I am basically wondering if there are any other smaller reasons why you would be denied...

"Fugitive from justice" can be a catch-all for many minor offenses. I know a guy that moved here from out-of-state and left an alcohol related offense and bench warrant unattended to back in his old state. He was denied because he was a "fugitive from justice".

That could be the same "fugitive from justice" cause. Probably un-paid fines or child support.

hmm...that's pretty much what I was getting at. Like I said, I have never had any problems with the law, I have 4 CCW permits for 34 states, and have bought guns before...but never here in CA. I just moved here in january.

So I was wondering if there was any other invisible reasons why i'd get denied.

An outstanding traffic ticket {ignored} will get you denied.
Then you have to start over. If your son borrowed your car
and got a parking ticket ,and just blew it off. You get denied.

A friend of mine was denied for an unpaid parking ticket.

there appears to be no provision for self-defense, wth?
according to this if i used aknife to defend myself in a home defense situation, i could be denied?

Wouldn't you need to be convicted of this first? If it's a clear-cut case of self-defense, you may not even be charged. If you are, you probably will be able to convince a jury to acquit.
