    SoCal Shooting Ranges For Drills?

is there any SoCal ranges that are especially designed for drills that have obstacles and etc? I like the traditional range and all, but I like doing drills.

You can rent a shooting bay at Raahauges in Norco or Burro Canyon, in Azuza and your own targets and set up what you want.

I believe you can rent private ranges at Angeles Shooting Range as well.

I don't know of any range with obstacles and things like that. You will probably have to bring targets, plywood barriers, etc. with you. I have always taken the easy route and taken classes where the instructor brings all of that.

Black Center Tactical teaches classes at Raahauges that are very good, reasonably priced, focus on drills that include movement, involve barrier work with the more advanced classes, and it's 1/2 price to retake classes. Worth a look.

Raahauges bay no. 6, it has a small building that is fun to use. Helps with practice for shooting out of Windows and doorways. Probably impossible to get that bay unless during the week.

Not impossible. Get there early, 8am, on the weekend. I've used that one a bunch of times. It's fun!

Just come to a USPSA match. They have all kinds of stuff like that. Pala even has a shoot-house for the matches. Here are the stages for tomorrows match:

That actually sounds like a good idea. What do the fees look like?

It depends on which match you go to. Pala (Linea de Fuego) is $25 for members / $35 for non-members, Norco Running gun is $40, Prado Running gun $40.

Pala idpa also. San Diego tactical shooters runs the matches and set up lots of good stages. Including using the afformentioned shoot house. Seems like LDF's ispc and sdts's idpa swap bays around every time so the shooters can have new stages. Good setup. Only problem is that they shoot on the same day, so you can't do both! If you bring your own stuff you can use the bays at pala after the sanctioned events clear out (ask the RSO!).

I asked the guy at iron sights and he let me draw from a holster. It was awkward with the bench in front of me. I didn't want to move too far back and be in anyone's way or a safety hazard, but I *was* allowed to do it.
