    removing parkerizing

Is there any way to remove parkeriizing without taking off any metal? Maybe a chemical process?

Parkerizing isn't a real finish. It's more like acid etched metal.

I keyed my 1911, shoving into a coat pocket that had a couple of full keyrings in it.

        We get through it.

The reason i am asking, is because i'm looking at a gun that should be parkerized but it's blue. There are no signs of it having been buffed or messed with. It makes a big difference in the value.
