Excellent video for those who don't understand the "You get what you pay for" quote. It means if you don't pay much, you don't get much.

Maybe I'm spoiled but I'd sure hate to be clearing malfunctions & struggling to chamber rounds in an emergency.

I think the hi-point has its place, just like Hickok said, "If you are at the place where $150 is the ONLY thing you can afford," well, lets face it, a hi-point is better than throwing a rock at the perp. If you have just a lil more money, then def buy something else. All in all, if thats all I could afford, ID BE GLAD TO HAVE A GUN!

Strange that Hi-Point is good enough to make the California roster. They initially created the roster to get the so called "Saturday night specials" out of the state. A friend purchased the Hi-Point .380. It weighs a ton and is about as big as a 45.

That's because those saturday night specials or "ring of fire" guns were for the most part those old pocket pistols(jennings, lorcin, raven, etc. there's a lot of reading to be done on that including where the "ring of fire" name came from). The hi-point isn't really in that same category(it's simply cheap).
