    People will hate me for saying this: Beretta 92/M9. Or a P226/P229 if you can spend more.

    Of course a 1911 9mm is really nice too. More expensive option.

                        Not knowing what you already have, there are many options. To name a few -
                        9mm 1911
                        .357 revolver - GP 100 or S&W 596/686 or even a Ruger Blackhawk convertible 9mm/.357
                        .44 Mag revolver (S&W or Ruger)
                        P-14 .45 acp (for a 1911 with similar capacity)

                            The only thing likely to shootbas good and be as fun to shoot as your Hi Power will be another Hi Power. I'd keep the one you have and buy an addition.

                                A Smith 627 is a great 357 mag revolver with eight round capacity. I really like shooting my Pro model.

                                                            I'd wholeheartedly recommend an STI double-stack 9mm 1911 but would absolutely recommend against any single-stack 9mm 1911.

                                                            That said, I do think the OP should keep the BHP unless there's something wrong with it that can't easily be fixed like a really worn slide-to-frame fit.
