DPMS Panther Arms A15 illegal?

I have searched up and down without much resolve. What rollmark is illegal and which isnt.

It is such a gray area and the price of lowers are so low, why would you even risk it?

I bought a DPMS panther arms A15 and destroyed it shortly after because the gun shop swore it was legal, and my Sherriff buddy said it wasn't.

Its not like DPMS is high quality or anything collectible either. Just chuck it
