    HK/Benchmade for $17

I just bought a H&K by Benchmade I saw advertised on Slickguns for $17.

I needed a couple of other things so I got the total to $40 for the free shipping.

Here is a link to the knife I found online

Hope this helps someone looking for a partially serrated knife.

Think this would be better in the deals section...

You could of just bought me a couple of knives to add up to $40.

I'll let you know in an hour. My local big5 has them in stock, I'm going down there to see if they'll price match.

Benchmade has a factory in the US where they manufacture and assemble the higher end knives (including H&K branded examples). The lower end stuff is produced entirely offshore, and will typically be marked as such on the blade.

That said, I have owned many of their knives including some very nice Snody designed axis-lock examples as well as some very low end examples from China and Taiwan. The mini-ascender that I carry is a low tier, offshore produced, knife, but it is actually very good value, and has held up well. They were so cheap (I think they were $13 through an online clearance) that I bought several. I don't worry about breaking them or loosing them as I do the higher end stuff.

I just picked up a Kershaw Volt II at B5 for $17.10 plus tax. MSRP is $44.99. Like the HK/Benchmark, the Volt is made in China. I really like the Volt. It opens quick and easy, feels good, is lightweight, and is razor sharp.

The Volt was on sale for $19. I had my ad with me and it had a coupon for 20% of regular price, no sale items. I mentioned I get e-mails and the clerk said she can give me another 10% off.

Best knife I have purchased for < $20.

They honored the price. 18.36 otd, also had fde version on sale for 20.

Decent knife, on the big side though, won't be replacing my sog twitch.

ETA: nm, went to second link, lots of pics, definitely a liner lock.

Not sure how well that lock up is gonna hold up at that price point.

Nice! Did you have to show them an ad or anything? I literally walk by a Big 5 on my way home, I'll dip in and grab one if it's not a hassle.

I pulled up their website on my phone and showed them the price in cart, but in store the black or fde version are on sale for $20.

It's definitely not a great EDC knife, probably 40-50% bigger than my SOG twitch. It's a steel liner lock with plastic handles, kinda grabs my thumb the wrong way when opening, but it's an assisted opening blade that locks positively and feels good to hold.

I'm using it to replace my very beat up NRA knife for opening boxes and for general abuse. If you don't need/want a new knife, I say pass on this and get something a little nicer.

Edit: It's tip down carry only, non reversible clip, really sucks.

So I went to my local store and bought a black 14140. The Box looks BM, the serrations look like BM, the warranty card and info is from Benchmade and it you follow the link on the box the knife came in, www.hk-knives.com you wind up at the HK-Benchmade site but there is no mention of either of these models. Certainly not the quality of a Blue Class BM but for $20 it is pretty decent. Sharp out of the box real sharp after a light strop, some blade play but tightened the pivot and is OK now.
The box says made in China the blade itself does not show country or blade steel.
The gal at the counter said they are made for their company exclusively.

Yes, these are legitimate HK Knives products. They are actually Big 5 exclusives.

You can always drill and tap another clip location. Cheap knives are great for dremel practice. [emoji12]
