    Welcome back to reloading!

    I finally got my Dillon 550 back from it's co-owner who's had it for several years, but the good news is he's done with reloading, so it's mine now!

    A lot has changed in these years. I used to buy powder and other necessities locally, but they're all gone. I live in Concord, and am hoping someone can direct me to a retailer reasonably nearby who' s well stocked. Someone told me Vacaville, but that's 40 miles. I'll go there if I have to, but I'd rather be closer.

    I mail order a viable option? Or are shipping and handling expensive?

    Thanks!

    Try posting in the reloading forum.
    Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
    I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

      The usually pause occurs when you figure in the Hazmat charges on powder and primers if you aren't making larger orders

      Hazmat usually runs $28..which on 1k round almost doubles the price, but on 15k primers (my last Midway order) adds less than $2 per thousand...which saved me $10/k

        Graf and Sons and Widener are great to get supplies...
        TURNING and turning in the widening gyre
        The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
        Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
        Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
        The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
        The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
        The best lack all conviction, while the worst
        Are full of passionate intensity.

          Bass Pro Shop in Manteca has had a lot of powder in stock lately. No hazmat fee buying at the store, but you'll pay sales tax.

          Cabela's typically has better prices than BPS, and if you order online, they don't collect sales tax for California. Hazmat fees are $20 no matter how much powder and primers you order, and shipping is currently $5 for orders over $99 (through 10/6/15).

            Welcome back to reloading.

            Extreme Bullets for projectiles and Graf and Sons for powder primers are always easy. They also take back orders for those harder to find powders. Their bullet prices are reasonable too.

              Antioch Armory has reloading supplies, Pretty much everything.

              Hook line and sinker in Oakley has powder, primers, and bullets. I only go there to check on powder so I don't know if they have brass and dies

                I think the hasmat is only for primers and powder. Everything else you can purchase on the internet. You get the best prices and a better selection on the net. There are quite a few web sites that sell everything you could ever want. Most of the large sporting goods stores Turners, bass pro sell primers around here and powder is a lot easier to find this year compared to last. I am lucky as we have a small one man shop local that has lots of powder. Welcome back.

                  Wideners is great for bulk bullets and brass.
