    FFL firearm release

I ordered a firearm from another state and had it delivered to a local FFL. When it arrived, I filled out the paperwork and waited 10 days. On the 10th day, I called the FFL, as I was instructed, and no one answered. I waited an hour, called again, and finally left a message that I wanted to pick up and to please give me a call back so that I could do so. On Saturday I called as well; again, no answer. This morning, I called again and again no answer. Today, however, I decided to drive by the FFL. No one appeared to be there. Today is day 14 of 30 and I'm not ready to bring out the pitchfork just yet. There could be an innocent explanation or there could not be. In the case of the latter, is there anything I can do should this week go by with no response?

I've never had this happen before and I am unsure of how to proceed. Again, I will wait out the week, but would like an idea of anything I can do should the week go by.

Nothing you can do, if the FFL is closed they are closed. Home based or store? If a store do they have hours posted? Have you emailed? Vendors on here? If so PM them.
    Just a normal guy

Many local gun stores are closed on Mondays. Is the one in question normally open on Mondays?

Lot of gun stores in my area are closed Monday and Sunday. And a lot of them never answer the phone even when they're open

One thing you can do is use an actual shop with regular drop-in business hours in the future...if you require that much availability.

The guys doing this out of their houses for minimal fees are offering a public service. You have to be a little flexible and understanding with them.

I'm sure you'll get your firearm. If you never hear from him again let us know.

Since I don't know your location , you have none listed , are you sure it hasn't been shut down by the ATF ?

I remember reading a thread here where one was closed and had their license pulled for an audit .
Bweise says "I have to say the situation was not at all helped by 22 yr old former Airsoft douches who kept touting here, "But possession is not illegal!" "

Fighting on the internet is like being in the special Olympics , everybody wins but your still retarded.

I'm not beating down doors or in any rush, which is why I'm going to wait until the end of the week. I was just curious if I had any recourse if the 30 days elapsed.

Yeah and he should understand that guys often want to pick up on the 10th day and notify you if he's going to be unavailable. I'm guessing he decided to take a long weekend trip or something.

I don't know of any cases where someone was not able to pick up their firearm within 30 days. Theoretically you could sue him. But 3 or 4 days after 10, I think you should be patient and see what happens. It just goes with the territory of these cheap at-home FFLs that they might not be available for a few days at a time.

Good luck. Please do update in the coming days.

Only recourse would be to try to get him to pay the second DROS that there will be no getting out of.

So any resolution on this then?

FFL called me this morning and I've picked up. I was given no real excuse or explanation for his absence and I decided not to press the issue. I am just relieved to have my property.
