Some Smith and Wesson autos say that because for years the vast majority of them had mag disconnect safeties. So it makes a little sense I suppose. I like how at Lee's Sandwiches they sell sugarcane juice with no sugar added.

Do you know how hot McDonald's coffee was before that lawsuit? It was 3rd degree burn hot.

Close, warning labels are almost always a reactive measure. They already were sued because there wasnt a warning label to warn my inept child that a jar of peanuts contains peanuts. Facepalm. Sad, so sad.

Ok, and it's still hot, like one would expect coffee to be. Putting the warning on the cup isn't what made it less hot that previously.

It was excessively hot, much hotter than you would expect coffee to be. I.E. boiling. And 3rd degree burns to the crotch are life threatening.

                    Um.

                    (a) I expect coffee to be boiling hot. Boiling hot water is sort of how they extract all the caffeine-y goodness from the beans.

                    (b) Putting the warning label on doesn't make the coffee any less hot, does it? Or did they reduce the temperature independently of adding the warning label?

First off coffee is supposed to be drinkable, not so hot it puts you in the hospital. And yes, they lowered the temperature.

I doubt any major chain would lower their coffee temps as it gives the perception of "freshness". I don't know about you, but I personally wouldnt drink coffee if it were served warm/hot and not scalding hot.

I almost never drink coffee since I don't need stimulants in order to function. Caffeine has some bad side effects too.

I'm not arguing that. I'm saying that printing the warning on the cups now, does NOT change the temperature of the contents. If McDonalds took that label off tomorrow, they could still keep the current temperature and people would go about their lives assuming that a cup of coffee is hot.

Jesus Christ, seriously? Are you being this way on purpose?

In what way does the warning label, in and of itself, cause the temperature to be lower? Or is there a magical "holy ****, I never knew coffee was hot" effect going on?

Congratulations. You're so big and tough and strong. So much better than us addicts. Please, may I bask in the warm glow of your superiority?
