I've started my first AR15 build and would like to add my family crest as well as some basic lettering. I've been reading up on acid etching and was wondering if anyone here has tried it. I'd appreciate any pointers. TIA

Vaderspade does it (or used to) pretty regular. He might have some videos online and hangs out in one of the subforums here...
Here is his thread on TM's site

If you don't mind coming down to Rancho Cucamonga, Sam, of Micro Laser Welding, does actual engraving and can go as deep or shallow as you want. He can do most stuff while you wait if you have an appt.
He's also on calguns... http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...+laser+welding
ETA: Family crests can be quite intricate and detailed. Not sure if that would be the best thing to try to acid etch, especially on your first try.Last edited by six seven tango; 09-17-2015, 7:42 AM.sigpic
