What about those drum mags frighten you so much? I own two drums. Had em for years. I also have more than 50 usgi 30 round mags I acquired over a lifetime. All nice and legal. Some of us even own legal "assault rifles". You do know that their are many, many legal assault rifles out there, don't you?Look I know I failed to mention this, but I don't have a problem if their rifle is legally owned. I do have a problem with those guys shooting 100 round drum mags in less than 8 seconds.... No is not bump fire.....
I apologize for using the wrong terminology and did not elaborate on the subject. Lets try to keep it civil.
You have bought whole sale BS. You have been fully conditioned by anti-2A propaganda. My bigger fear is that you think you have good information and might share it with others. You made assumptions based on your previous conditioning from anti-2A politicians and soccer moms.
Your not going to get sympathy for your ignorance here. I'm going to bow out now. Nothing good is going to come from this thread after all that.Last edited by Sapperforward; 09-14-2015, 6:21 PM.

Went to Spenceville once and won't be back.
They will sweep you about every 15 minutes and the place sucks for anything but mag dumps.
They were throwing monitors 10 feet out and putting rifle rounds into them.

Oh, wait, no it doesn't.
Why did'nt you take out the phone and record it to post here. We all like watching (and hopefully, occasionally using) full auto. Landscape mode if you don't mind.
Drum mag dump in 8 seconds! I'm in!!
100 rounds in 8 seconds----about $34
Dumping a full drum down range----pricelessSorry, not sorry.

I have great times at Spence. Haven't been there in over 10 years though.
Went on morning weekdays.. set up soup cans on rocks at the end..maybe 300 yds ish and shoot handload .308 out o a sweet Remington 700.
Then had steel setup at 50 and 100 yds to blast with handgun and variety of semi auro rifles. Of course wih 30/40 and 75 round ak drums.
Once we were there and a old ww2 vet had a custom rifle plinking flies off rhe rocks at 300yds with a necked down .308 to a 5.56. Cant remember what that wildcat is called...lazer beam. We had exploding targets (styrofoam 2x2 " boxes from guns show) out there and had trouble hitting the last one. This vet said may I..we said hell yes..boom done.
He was hand loading at the cement bench. Hell he took one of our .308 rounds we had just fired......press, ececet...and fired it. He was very cool dude.Beans and BulletsComment

No matter which side of the issue you are on in this thread. Or in this other thread:
These are the kinds of activities that will get Spenceville closed. That and no one picking up their trash.
When it gets to be too big of a headache for law enforcement it will get closed. I'm surprised it hasen't bee closed already.Comment

The first and only time I went to Spenceville with a friend -
Everything was fine for about the first hour.
Then two trucks FULL of hillbillies and several children below jr. high age rolled in, right behind where we were set up and shooting.
After about the third or fourth "GODDAMMIT BILLY!!! WHAT DID I JUST TELL YOU?!" and turning around to see a kid waving a muzzle around carelessly... I lost my concentration and my desire to continue focusing on what was in front of me, for fear of what was going on BEHIND me. We left in short order.
That's what comes of an unsupervised range. It's an experience I don't care to repeat. The one thing worse than defeat is surrender.Comment

I don't have a problem with what people shoot as long as they do it safely.
The problem with Spenceville is that it is reasonably common for a certain element to frequent the range and shoot highly unsafely. In addition to usual, being swept with muzzle and people shooting too far forward of even behind the "firing line" you get a number of people who go out to the range and think it's okay to use intoxicating substances.
I've left the range at Spenceville on more than one occasion because of shooters knocking back tall boys or 40s and even smoking pot. I don't have a problem with drinking or even smoking the gonga, but I'm not going to be put myself in more danger by being around people who could be impaired while shooting.
I wouldn't get into a car with someone who is chemically impaired, why the hell would I be near one while they shoot firearms?"Far and away the best prize life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." - Theodore Roosevelt
